[T]ext Search - Help
____________________
Subcommands:
Text Search : [Q]uick, [F]ull, [H]elp, [Enter] = None :
_______________________________________________________
Text Search allows you to scan messages for specific text.
[Q]uick = Scan all messages and search the message "subject",
"to", and "from" fields for the user supplied
text string.
[F]ull = Scan all messages and search the message "subject",
"to", and "from" fields as well as the "body" of the
message for the user supplied text string.
[H]elp = Display this help file.
Pressing [Enter] will end the Text Search function and return you
to the GAP command line.
After telling GAP how you wish to search the messages, GAP will
then ask you for the starting point :
Search : [1 - 999], [A]ll, [S]ince :
Typing 'A' (or pressing Enter) will start the search with the first
message.
Typing 'S' will start the search with the last message you have
read.
Typing any number will start the search with that number.
The search text can be any text string. The minimum number of
characters allowed is 2, and the maximum is 20.
Any matching messages will be "marked" for later reading. Since
Text Search has the capability for "remembering" up to 300
messages, it is best to NOT use common words or words with less
than 4 characters as your search text.
GAP will display a "." for each 10 messages that it reads.
To read your marked messages, select "R" from the main command
line, and then select [M]arked from the mail command prompt.
You may also type "R M" at the main command line.
Once you have started reading your marked messages, it is necessary
only to press [Enter] to continue reading.
Joining a Forum, Opening a Door, or entering into the Files system
will cause your marked messages to be "forgotten".
All commands and search text may be stacked from the Main Command line.
